Integration
Connect TikTok campaigns to downstream outcomes.
DATALYR routes supported events to TikTok so your measurement can extend beyond the initial click. Define a meaningful purchase or registration outcome, select the destination and validate its payload before using delivered events as the basis for campaign decisions.
Compare plans and usageCampaign engagement does not establish business value.
A video can generate attention while producing few paying customers. The conversion connection must carry the outcome you care about, not simply the easiest interaction to capture. Web and app events also have different context, making source selection and event mapping important parts of a reliable setup.
In DATALYR
TikTok Events API
Outcome-specific rules
Choose a supported standard event that matches the recorded action. A trial or registration can be useful, but should remain distinguishable from a completed payment in analysis and optimization.
Web and app context
Follow the documented event-source handling for your implementation. Review available identifiers and permissions rather than assuming a payment webhook contains the same context as a live app interaction.
Testable delivery
Use a controlled test to inspect event name, value and currency. A clear verification path lets the team distinguish a missing source event from a rule problem or downstream platform response.
The workflow
From setup to a useful answer.
Connect the advertiser
Authorize TikTok and select the intended advertiser in Sources. Confirm the destination pixel or app asset matches the campaigns whose outcomes you want to measure before creating the rule.
Map the trigger
Choose an event already present in DATALYR and map its standard event and financial fields. Review event identity if another implementation also sends the same purchase from the browser.
Use a Test Events code
Set the documented test code before sending a test event. Inspect it in TikTok Events Manager and compare the payload with DATALYR, then verify a permitted live outcome separately.
Verify the result
Know what good looks like.
- The advertiser and destination asset match the intended campaigns.
- A test uses a Test Events code and appears with the expected fields.
- One business action remains one outcome across browser and server delivery.
Go deeper
Use the guide for context, then follow the implementation reference for your setup.
A few practical questions.
Can I test without a TikTok test code?
The integration documentation warns that TikTok lacks a validate-only mode for this flow. Configure the Test Events code before testing so a diagnostic event is not treated as a live conversion.
Does receiving an event prove it was attributed to an ad?
No. Delivery and attribution are different stages. TikTok applies its own matching and reporting rules, while DATALYR reports the acquisition evidence available within its configured attribution model.
