Integration
Connect your Shopify storefront to the sale.
DATALYR connects storefront activity, checkout events and Shopify payment records. Give your team a way to investigate which campaigns preceded an order, where checkout journeys stop, and how refunds change the money retained after the initial purchase.
Compare plans and usageAn order is not the entire journey.
A paid order can arrive without the visit that introduced the shopper. Meanwhile, order totals, transaction records and refunds answer different questions. A useful setup preserves the connection between storefront identity and payment evidence, then makes it possible to distinguish an attribution gap from a missing sale. Use one known order as the reference before investigating store-wide totals.
In DATALYR
Shopify Attribution
Storefront context
Bring landing-page visits and campaign parameters into the same investigation as the order. Diagnose missing identity before interpreting an unattributed purchase as proof that advertising played no role.
Checkout visibility
Use checkout activity to separate interest from completed orders. A started checkout can help explain funnel friction, but should never carry the same business meaning as a paid purchase.
Revenue reconciliation
Review signed payment transactions and refunds rather than adding mutable order snapshots together. Keep currency and reporting period consistent when comparing DATALYR with the store’s own financial records.
The workflow
From setup to a useful answer.
Connect the store
Authorize the permanent myshopify.com domain in Sources. Enable the DATALYR App Embed and confirm the checkout Web Pixel is installed before testing the complete storefront-to-order journey.
Follow one purchase
Open a tagged storefront visit and complete an appropriate test purchase. Inspect the visit, checkout and order records together; verify that identity survives the handoff rather than checking only an order count.
Check the money
Compare a completed payment and a refund with Shopify. Confirm test transactions are excluded from business reporting, and investigate timezone or currency differences before treating a mismatch as lost tracking.
Verify the result
Know what good looks like.
- The storefront visit records the intended campaign parameters.
- The purchase resolves to the expected visitor when consent and identifiers permit.
- Payment and refund totals reconcile for the same period and currency.

A few practical questions.
Does Shopify connection alone establish attribution?
No. Storefront tracking and the identity handoff also matter. Orders may arrive while their campaign connection remains missing, particularly when consent is denied or the App Embed is inactive.
What happens with Checkout Champ orders?
DATALYR documents source-origin handling for orders that also appear in Shopify. Verify this with your actual funnel so the same payment is not treated as two separate purchases.
